Marie Lawrence
About Marie
Marie is an award-winning character comedian and versatile actor, equally at home in comedy and drama.
Marie started her career in film and TV in the cult hit comedy, 'PhoneShop’ for Channel 4 and went on to become a core cast member in all three series of the BAFTA-winning comedy, 'Murder in Successville’ for BBC/Netflix.
Recent credits include, ‘The Duchess’ for Netflix, ‘The Reluctant Landlord’ for Sky One, ‘ManMade’ for Lowkey films and ‘Holby City’ for BBC.
Her stage credits include Lexi in ‘The Understudy’ (Palace Theatre), Joan Potter in ‘Nigel Slater’s Toast' (West End, Traverse Theatre and The Lowry), Mariana in the Edinburgh Comedy Award winning show ‘Don Rodolfo’ (Pleasance Edinburgh and Soho Theatre), Fanny in ‘Lysistrata’ (Rose Theatre Kingston) and most recently playing Cherie Blair in Harry Hill and Steve Brown’s musical, ‘Tony! The Tony Blair Rock Opera’ (Park Theatre).
Marie has written and performed shows at the Edinburgh festival with her double act ‘Haiste and Lawrence’ (Straight8 Cannes and SketchFest screen winners) and can be heard narrating you a bedtime story or two on audible and Tonies.
